Who we are

Louisiana Fiber is operated by Parity Platforms LLC. We built this site to help Louisiana residents find and compare internet providers using publicly available federal data. We are not affiliated with the State of Louisiana or ConnectLA.

What we collect

Short version: almost nothing, and nothing that identifies you.

  • Address lookups: When you use the address checker, your address is sent to Google Places (for autocomplete) and the U.S. Census Bureau (for geocoding). We do not store your address, coordinates, or lookup results on our servers.
  • Eligibility quiz: Your answers to the Lifeline eligibility quiz are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers or any third party.
  • Analytics:We use Fathom Analytics, a privacy-focused service that does not use cookies, does not track individuals, and is fully GDPR compliant. It records anonymous page views and anonymous event counts only (for example, “a visitor clicked a provider link”), never tied to a person.
  • Outbound link clicks: When you click a provider button, it passes through a redirect on our site (a /go/ link) so we can count, anonymously, which options people find useful. We do not record who clicked.
  • No cookies from us: We do not set any cookies on your device, no tracking cookies, no session cookies, no advertising cookies. (See the note on affiliate links below for what happens once you leave our site.)

Affiliate links and how we’re funded

Louisiana Fiber is free to use and carries no display ads. Some of the outbound links to internet providers are affiliate links: if you sign up for a service through one of them, we may earn a commission from that provider or its affiliate network, at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site free.

  • Commissions never affect which providers we list, the data we show, or how anything is ranked. Provider listings come from FCC data and our published Connect Score methodology, not from who pays us.
  • We do not set advertising cookies on our own site. When you click an affiliate link and arrive at a provider’s site, that provider or its affiliate network may set its own cookies to attribute the referral. That activity is governed by their privacy policies, not ours.

Third-party services

  • Google Places API: Used for address autocomplete. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder: Used to convert addresses to census block IDs for coverage lookups. This is a public federal API.
  • Fathom Analytics: Cookieless, privacy-first analytics. Fathom’s Privacy Policy.
  • Provider affiliate networks: When you click an affiliate link, the destination provider and its affiliate network (for example, FlexOffers or CJ Affiliate) may process the click under their own privacy policies.
  • Vercel: Our hosting provider. Subject to Vercel’s Privacy Policy.

What we don’t do

  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with anyone.
  • We do not run display advertising or ad-tracking pixels.
  • We do not create user profiles or accounts.
  • We do not collect email addresses (unless you contact us directly).
  • We do not use fingerprinting or any form of cross-site tracking.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
