About broadband in New Iberia
Beyond the national carriers, New Iberia is served in part by Cajun Broadband, a locally founded internet provider that started in 2017 as a two-tower fixed-wireless operation in rural Acadiana and is based in nearby Cade. Through Louisiana's GUMBO grant program, Cajun Broadband won state funding to build fiber-to-the-home in the Coteau area just outside New Iberia, on both sides of U.S. 90, delivering 100/100 Mbps service, with Iberia Parish contributing a $175,000 local funding match.
